WHAT IS TOKEN SWAP?

Token swap is the migration of digital tokens from one Blockchain to another.

It mainly happens when projects use a Blockchain to raise funds, such as the Ethereum network, and then transfer tokens to their own Blockchain once the project’s mainnet is launched. The most recent example is the case of EOS and Tron.

In addition, some Blockchains join token swaps when these projects, for some reason, want to switch to another Blockchain network. For example, the Storj network moved from the Bitcoin Blockchain to the Ethereum network in 2017 when Storj’s developers discovered that the Ethereum blockchain provided better scalability for their project.
